    Description

I've seen a lot of tape in pancake form and otherwise over the years, but this is the first time I've had pancakes of 0.15 in tape, of course the correct size for cassettes (which are not 1/8 in as people tend to say) and miniature open reel recorders such as the Nagra SN.
The one puzzle is what type of tape this is exactly. The hold down tabs are as photographed, starting with 520, which is usually the tape tape but I have not been able to identify it from any of my sources.
The tape is not back treated. The oxide layer is brown and the backing is very dark. Measured with a micrometer, it is around 0.7 mil total thickness, which would make these nominally 7200 ft pancakes, as they are on a standard NAB center and the outer diameter of a standard 10 1/2 in 1/4in tape pancake, however that is just an estimate.
We do have a Nagra SN and have run some samples to ensure it doesn't shed and do some sample recordings of speech and music. I then ran a playback on a TEAC X2000R that was on the bench and noted the tape was stable at the bottom of the tape guides, so I did some more music recording and playback at 3 3/4 and 7 1/2 ips, just listening to one 1/4 track channel. Despite the odd set-up and noting the deck was set up for high bias / high output tape, the results sounded very good.
I have several of these pancakes, priced individually, listing 3 to start with.
These are unused with the hold down tape in place.
As for all pancakes, they need careful handling and will be packed very carefully

COLORADO SALES TAX CHANGE 1st December 2018.
As of this date, as a Colorado-based business, I am required to charge sales tax based on your location in Colorado rather than my location. Based on my in-state sales volume, the way I am going to do this is set a flat rate of 9% and refund the difference BEFORE I SHIP. As I'm human (I hope), I will forget occasionally, so please remind me if necessary. If you are in a location where the sales tax is above 9% and below 10%, I will absorb that difference. If your location is charging 10% or more, I will send a message requesting payment of the difference by Paypal. I hope that this will be a short term situation as ebay is progressively automating sales tax collection state by state.
