Up for sale are 6 large 3" across quahog shells sourced from the waters of Narragansett Bay. Why waste money buying mostly white shells when these are available? The word "Wampum" comes from the Narragansett Indian word for "white shell bead".   All of these shells have the deep purple and the variegation to make a beautiful pieces of jewelry. These have not been exposed to heat which would make the shell brittle. They are also not oiled or wet, the shine is natural! You will get a selection of shells similar to is shown, I will not offer a shell unless the purple goes all the way around the lip. Who wants a mostly white shell!
