Here is a fine and Large black pottery vase signed MARIE & JULIAN [MARTINEZ] – a vintage pot about 90 years old with the famous matt black geometric decoration for which this San Ildefonso ware is known around the world. Julian died in the early 1930s, this pot is likely late 1920s to 1933 or so. The vase is fairly large at 6 ½” tall and 9” across the middle – the top opening is 5 ½”. There are no chips or cracks, normal handling and use wear but overall a well preserved example with no real issues to note.
