Description
Vintage Japanese Folding Fan Sensu Shimaisen
This is a traditional Japanese fan called Sensu. You can use this when it's hot or as decoration. It is sometimes used in traditional Japanese dance. It's decorated with gold, yellow ans silver design. The design is the same on both sides. This type of fan is called
Shimaisen
and is traditionally used during Noh theater performances. The paper is secured onto the bamboo frame with a white string. This folding fan comes with a paper box.

Good condition. Corners folded. Tear on corners. Inscriptions (name) on one side. Metal ballasts missing. Discoloration, stains, and tears on the paper box. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
Acquired in the famous Osu Antique Fair in Nagoya, Japan
