    Description

LOT of JFK ASSASSINATION NEWSPAPERS NEW ORLEANS incl. Nov 22, 1963 “Reported Alive”
I found these newspapers in my parents’ basement. My dad kept them in a box. Dry basement; smoke-free home but please note they are not Mint condition. They are folded and yellowed.
Item #1 is the Friday, November 22, 1963 afternoon issue of the NEW ORLEANS STATES – ITEM, which reports that the President is shot. I find this one the most interesting because it states “Reported Alive, Critical.”
Item #2 is the Saturday, November 23, 1963 issue of the NEW ORELANS STATES - ITEM with the headline “Ex-Orleanian Charged in Murder of Kennedy.” It also has a photograph of Kennedy’s flag-draped coffin with the cutline, “Body of President John F. Kennedy Lies in Repose in the White House. Honor Guard comprises enlisted men of Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force.
Item #3 is the Sunday morning November 24, 1963 issue of the Times-Picayune, which reported “Oswald linked to murder gun by photograph.” It also has the headline “Johnson moves to rally nation dazed by tragedy” declaring a day of mourning.
Item #4 is the Monday, November 25, 1963 afternoon issue of the NEW ORLEANS STATES – ITEM with the headline “World Leaders at Funeral. Nation Says Goodbye to JFK.” On the front page, is also a story “Bullet Path Death Map Confirmed.”
