Description

Being offered is an issue of the New York Times newspaper from Thursday July 18, 1946. This ORIGINAL, COMPLETE newspaper (42 pgs) is loaded with all the international, national, regional NY news, entertainment, sports, business and advertising of the day. Highlights in this edition include African Americans turning out strong to vote for the FIRST time in the Democratic primary; Execution of Yugoslav General Draja Mikhailovitch in Belgrade for collaborating with the Germans during WWII; sports section featuring pictures of baseball Hall of Famers Phil Rizzuto & Ted Williams. This newspaper is folded in the middle as this was a home delivery edition and not cut from a bound volume. In GOOD condition for it's age, it shows yellowing, some staining, edge tears and flaking and is fragile with some small tears, especially along the spine and fold lines. A great piece of Americana for the ephemera history collector. Thanks for looking!
