Other symptoms include difficulty in tuning or even a band shutting down, The capacitor upgrade replaces all the electrolytic capacitors that are prone to fail or dry-up with time.

    The SW55 must be able to come out of CAL and default to the 150 kHz default frequency when batteries have been installed. If the radio stays in the CAL position and shuts off, the SW55 has other issues other than bad capacitors. The Capacitor Upgrade will not remedy this problem.
